The first Sammy's Restaurant was established by Sam and Louise Perrella, our Great Uncle and Aunt, in Hibbing, MN in 1954. Five years later with the help of Sam and Louise, our grandparents and parents opened Sammy's Pizza in Green Bay. We have the tremendous dedication and effort of our parents, Al and Bernie Crispigna, to thank for the Sammy's we know today.
The foundation of our menu is pizza. We are proud to say our pizza dough, sauce, sausage and seasoned beef are still made following Sam and Louise's original recipes. Our offering now includes several specialty pizzas and 30 toppings if you prefer to build your own.
Pasta is also a large part of our menu. We have fond memories of our grandmothers, who lived on the same street in Iron Mountain, Michigan, making pasta by hand every Sunday. Our homemade pastas include spaghetti, fettuccine, pappardelle, along with gnocchi and penne. We also make 8 homemade pasta sauces, meatballs, and our family recipe Italian sausage. Some of these recipes were served at our Great Grandparents first restaurant which opened in 1924 in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
We believe quality is most important and consistently use the freshest and highest quality ingredients in all our food items, including Wisconsin made mozzarella cheese.
You will find a member of the Crispigna family at Sammy's every day, including Bernie. A special thank you goes out to Justin Drossart and our and our hard working and dedicated staff, whom without we could not be successful. And to our customers, thank you! We appreciate all the friends we have made over the years and always enjoy meeting new ones.
