VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN’S AID SOCIETY

We welcome and rely on volunteers working alongside paid staff to serve children and their families

Children's Aid Society loves its volunteers!

Volunteers for CAS give over 2500 hours of service annually to help the children and families of our agency in York, Adams, and Franklin Counties!

We can't Thank You enough!

How can you help?

There are many ways to help, but we typically can use the following help at each of our centers.

York County

York C.A.R.E.S Code Blue Shelter

The Children's Aid Society - York C.A.R.E.S., York County Coalition on on Homelessness (YCCH), along with its community partners, (LifePath, Friends and Neighbors of PA, Inc., Union Lutheran Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Bethel Commandment Church, & Saint Mary's RC Church) are providing single male and female emergency shelters for the 2023-2024 winter season (approximately mid December – end of March). This 'cold weather only' emergency shelter is often referred to as Code Blue - the intent is that anyone who is homeless has a place to get in out of the winter weather elements and be safe when certain weather conditions are met. This shelter will support the decrease in existing year round shelter beds and overflow space our community uses during a typical winter.
