Each variety of soap is handmade in small batches to ensure gourmet quality using only vegetable oils, which are heated and added to a caustic lye solution. The saponification reaction takes place during the stirring process and a hard soap is formed. All soaps are superfatted, meaning there is more oil than lye, making the soaps very moisturizing, unlike the detergents which pass for soap on the commercial market these days. All soaps are made of the finest raw ingredients, plant oils, and fragrances, and are aged for four weeks after molding before they are sold. Soaps are made through the cold-process soap making technique--pure soaps have been made this way for hundreds of years, and now you can experience how wonderful real soap really is.
