F.A.Q - General

Q. WHAT TYPE OF CLEANING METHOD DO YOU USE?
A. For most residental and commercial carpet and upholstery we use a powerful truck-mounted hot water (steam) cleaning system with powerful extraction.

Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY CARPETS & UPHOLSTERY TO DRY?
A. Keep pets, children & normal traffic off of carpet & upholstery for a minimum of 4 hours. Carpet and upholstery should be fairly dry to the touch when the cleaning is finished, but can take several hours to dry completely, depending on the type of carpet, how extensive the cleaning was (if severe soiling) and the weather conditions (temperature and humidity).

Q. What type of chemicals do you use? Are they safe?
A. We use non-toxic products, which have a slight fragrance, that are safe for children and pets.

Q. What types of stains can you remove?
A. Many stains are difficult to remove, but we use commerical products that can remove or reduce many stains including soda, wine, coffee, juice, blood, to name a few; we also specialize in removing pet urine & feces stains.

Q. Can you eliminate urine odor and musty smells?
A. Yes! However due to the severity of the odor(s), some may be more difficult than others to completely eliminate.

Q. Do you guarantee your work?
A. ABBRA Carpet Cleaning stands behind each job. If for any reason you are unhappy with our services, please let us know. Occasionally, permanent stains and worn areas of your carpet will be more visible after cleaning. If we feel this may be a possibility, we will discuss this with you before beginning our work.

Q. How often should I have my carpet cleaned?
A. On average, most household carpets shoould be cleaned at least once a year. Carpets in homes with children and pets and/or individuals with allergies should be cleaned more frequently.

Q. How can I keep my carpet looking nice?
A. Vacuuming regularily and more often when dirt and debris are tracked in will prevent the carpet from matting and also dirt and debris from imbedding in the base of the fibers.

Q. What types of carpets do you clean?
A. We can clean all types - olefin, nylon, blends, including wool which is a different cleaning process. Berber is a weave, not a type of fabric.

Q. What types of area rugs do you clean?
A. We clean Orientals, wool, braided (both sides) and most other types of all sizes, plus runners. It is best to have these cleaned in our shop for best results.

Q. Will you move my furniture?
A. We will move and clean under sofas, loveseats and easy chairs. After cleaning we insert foam blocks &/or plastic tabs under the legs of those pieces of furniture; which should be left in place for 24 hours. Due to liability issues, we do not move larger/heavier pieces such as entertainment centers, bookcases, pianos, china hutches, beds, chest of drawers, dressers, etc.

F.A.Q - Upholstered Furniture

Q. How often should I have my upholstered furniture cleaned?
A. Upholstery should be cleaned once every 12-24 months as part of regular maintenance. To avoid permanent damage to the fabric, cleaning should be done as soon as it shows visible dirt or soiling and to prevent additional soiling from building up and causing irrevsible staining/damage.

Q. What types of fabrics do you clean?
A. We can clean cotton, silk, rayon, chintz, microfibers and wool. Some have different cleaning methods.
