We are a LOW DUES PAYING COMPANY ($120/season payable in 2 installments of $60 at the start of our 1st 6 weeks & $60 at the start of our 2nd 6 weeks - that works out to $10/week). The dues are used to cover space rental, promotional materials and other production related costs. No one (including our founder) is compensated for their involvement with 3ofaKind.
DATES for SEASON 9 (our upcoming season):
We will meet from 7PM-10PM every Sunday from July 19th through November 1st (excluding Labor Day Weekend). Performances will be held the 1st two weekends of November.
WRITERS
3ofaKind Theatre Company offers our 6 writers a unique and intense twelve-week workshop environment providing an immediate presentation of your work in progress and offering feedback from our actors, directors and peer writers. At the end of 6 weeks, our company chooses 3 of those plays to produce for the public. The remaining 6 weeks are dedicated to polishing the chosen scripts through rehearsals and performance.
ACTORS
As an actor with 3ofaKind Theatre Company, you'll do more than act. You'll take an active part in a total theatre experience from inception to production. You'll be involved in weekly collaborations with our staff of writers, directors, and producers.
During the first 6 weeks of our season (Development Phase), you will be cast into a mulititude of diverse roles. Each week, you will be given the opportunity to portray a new character with a different cast and director. Over the course of 6 weeks, you will have the chance to work on at least 4 of the 6 original scripts we are developing.
Your intensive work will pay off with your performance in our production of 3 Original One-Act plays written, directed, produced, and cast from within our company.
*We are looking for actors who can play a WIDE RANGE (since you will be performing many different character types)
DIRECTORS
The director is the unifying link between the actors and the writers at 3ofaKind Theatre. It is his/her responsibility to interpret the writer's words into a theatrical work. Each week, the director collaborates with the writers and actors to decide on the interpretation of the play, rehearses the actors, and coordinates all elements into a finished performance.
